But memorable he is. ritikahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15374123215110398058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5518791629286178662.post-33392681722667019642014-01-29T17:54:48.062-07:002014-01-29T17:54:48.062-07:00Wha?

It's fine if you didn't like Lawrence's stuff. It isn't for everyone. But it IS for readers like me. And there are a lot of us.

You aren't wrong. I'm not right. It's a subjective matter of opinion.

Here's the thing, in your off-handed insult of me and my site, you seem to be comparing apples to oranges to bananas. Sanderson's work isn't exactly dark fantasy. Neither is Rothfuss. Neither is Butcher. Nor Jordan. Certainly not Pratchett, who shouldn't even be compared to any of the preceding. He's essentially in a different genre. Martin is the only dark fantasy guy you mentioned. All those people are great, in my opinion. But none of them write in the same sub-genre as Lawrence, so comparing them seems a tad odd to me. But hey. You do what you want.

Lawrence, in my opinion, on my site, in my review, is freaking amazing. If Subterranean Press released a limited edition of his series tomorrow, I'd be first in line to buy it. And I'll tell everyone to do so.

So please, don't come on here insulting me, my site, my readers, and the authors I've decided I enjoy under the guise of concern. If you want to say it just wasn't for you, go for it. But don't insult, with your insinuations and accusations, the people here who work hard.Steve the Bookstore Guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02237292117795968540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5518791629286178662.post-65443307182229828012014-01-28T18:12:45.295-07:002014-01-28T18:12:45.295-07:00Hi Steve,

A decent effort I will grant you but a stunning work of dark fantasy? Please, this trilogy doesn't compare to truly great works created by seasoned authors as Sanderson, Rothfuss, R.R. Martin, Brett, Hobb, J. Sullivan, Butcher, Jordan, Pratchett, ... There should be some distinction between reviews of truly great works of Fantasy/Sci-Fi and works such as these, to do otherwise will create misinformation for visitors of this site which I would find a great shame.

Kind regardsAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14580515110734107992noreply@blogger.com
